In short, the thematic focus of this series is female sexuality, as shown through a juxtaposition of vulvas and fruits.

The goal of this piece is to confront our society’s hesitance and discomfort toward female sexuality, though it started only as something visual: Nature replicates itself everywhere, and we can infer connections from these patterns.

This series is thus a protest against censorship of the self, of feminine sexuality, bodies, minds, and emotions. The apple also holds biblical significance, as it symbolizes original sin and the eternal damning of women thanks to Eve’s indulgence. The biblical connotations of this piece link ‘secular’ attitudes toward female sexuality to their religious roots, even if they have become implicit.
